The Gospel Lights
Lead and Background Singer
I was born in a small rural town called "Windy City, just a few miles outside of Jackson, Tennessee. Our family later moved to Humboldt, Tennessee, which is in Gibson County.
I was born on the 7th day of February 1953 to my wonderful parents, Willie and Mary Glenn. I was the third child of six children. I was raised is a Christian home along with my two brothers and three sisters. My father retired from Alton Box Company, Humboldt, TN after 30 years of service, and my mother retired as a nurse's aid at Humboldt General Hospital with 31 years of service.
I attended school at Stigall Elementary and Stigall High School
in Humboldt, TN. I played football and basketball in High school until I broke my ankle. After graduating High School in 1971, I attended Jackson State Community College, Jackson, TN for two years.
I joined church at the age of ten at Antioch Baptist in Gaston, Tennessee. I began singing on the choir at an early and have been singing every since. I later became a member of the Male choir.
I later moved to Milan, TN and joined Saint Paul Baptist church,
where I was a member of the male choirs, and member of the trustees. I am now presently a member of New Reedy Creek
Missionary Baptist Church, McLemoresville, TN, where I am
a member of the choir.
I worked for Foamex International, Milan, TN for 30 years until the company closed. I am now employed with Norandal USA, Huntingdon, TN.
I've been happily married to my lovely wife Rosella for the last eleven years. Together we have one son Jamal who is 9 years old. I have two older children from a previous marriage, Dinah who lives in Jamaica, New York and Marcus who lives in McKenzie, TN. I have three grandchildren, one boy and two girls. I love spending time relaxing with my family when I am not singing or working. I also love playing a good game of golf every chance I get. I enjoy fishing and hunting with my uncle and friends. In my spare time I enjoy helping my son with sports, I help coach his little league football, baseball, and basketball team. Last but not least, according to my wife, I love holding on to the remote control while watching my favorite sports.
I started singing with the Gospel Lights in 1983, over 20 years ago.
I love singing with the group. I have gained great spiritual strength through the years. We have had many to come and go, but I can truly say I never entertained the idea of leaving. We are as close as any group can be; my second family of brothers. I hope and pray the group can stay together another 20 years and I am still singing with them.
