In Memory of James Wright Jr.

James Wright Jr.

James was a faithful member of The Gospel Lights singing group. He had been singing with us for about four years. He was always talking about the Lord and demonstrated his love for Him through a quiet lifestyle and the many years he spent traveling the roads singing the gospel in songs. We are sure that everyone who heard him sing will agree, he did his very best.

The Gospel Lights know that he was faithful until the end of his life on earth. The last time we heard him sing was rehearsal the Saturday before he passed away. We will never forget it because he sang so hard. He started out with us en route to Ripley, Tennessee to sing that following Sunday afternoon. He got sick and was carried back to Milan, Tennessee. We all thought he was going to the hospital. We went on to Ripley without him, but we called him as we journeyed home after the singing services. He told us that he was okay. We heard the next day, that he had departed this life early that Monday morning, June 11, 2000.

The wonderful times we shared together will always be memories in our minds. We know he will be missed by his family, friends, and those who loved to hear him sing. We miss him but God knows best.

James was excited about our plans to record our first CD. Starting on July 8, 2000, he was planning to lead two of his favorite songs on the recording, "I've Got Jesus and That's Enough" and "When the Lord Gets Ready, You've Got to Move". We decided to record these songs in memory of him.

The Gospel Lights will always cherish the memories of the times we spent with him and hope to see him again over in The Glory Land.
